“Complexity is the enemy of execution.”
I heard Tony Robbins say this in one of his online seminars but this week I really started thinking about it properly because I noticed I'd totally fallen victim to complexity.
Word on the street is that Instagram now favours reels as it continues to compete with TikTok. With this in mind I wasn't posting unless it was a reel but then also getting upset for not posting every day. I’ve been on a massive learning curve of what the difference is between reels, stories, highlights, etc and that’s only on one platform - throw in half term along with visiting relatives and you’ve got the perfect recipe for overwhelm.
So what did I do? I reminded myself that, although it’s a fabulous tool for community building, I didn’t set out to work for instagram. I set out to work for myself, doing what I love designing and creating. And once my focus shifted back to that I produced some artwork, which I just so happened to be able to turn into a reel!
So let me ask you - where do you feel you're over complicating things? What would you like to be focused on instead?
