The most important time to rest is when you don’t have time to rest.

If you follow along on insta @thispollyanna you’ve probably seen through stories that I jetted off on holiday this week to see an old friend and chill out by a pool. It seems a little counter intuitive when all my hopes and dreams are bubbling out of me and I’ve declared to the world - well, instagram, that I am ready to take my life to the next level - and I’ve even invited you along for the ride but as the old saying goes, you cannot pour from and empty cup and as all the airlines say “put your own gas mask on first before you try to help anyone else.”
Last year was a frazzling affair that I would rather not repeat but as a lot of you will know I do like to find a silver lining in a crisis (check out the @begladmovement) and what I did learn was that I needed to make more time for me and it was 100% up to me to do that for me. As a busy mum I love being able to be there for my children but this shouldn’t be at the sacrifice of any evidence of who I am other than ‘mum.’ Although the me I used to be seems a very long way away, I’m not sure I want to find her, only elements of her, those kick arse parts that will serve me moving forwards. I’m also ready to weed out the parts that don’t serve me either. After all weeding and pruning makes way for new growth.
Tell me, as you move forward what traits are you hoping to re-ignite and which are you hoping to drop? And how are you going to fill your cup? It doesn’t have to be a holiday, small moments to yourself can be just as rejuvenating.
